Statement of the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Abandoned surrounding the inclusion of Sta. Ana Shrine in the Manila Mayor's report.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno claimed in his 100 days recap the accomplishment of Sta. Ana National Shrine renovation, which the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Abandoned denied, on Friday, October 10.
In a statement, the National Shrine says that the office report of Mayor Isko led to confusion, as the Local Government of Manila currently has no projects or activities connected to the said project.
“NOT FUNDED BY THE CITY GOVERNMENT,” the Church Highlighted.
The National Shrine divulges that the recent roofing retrofitting in the church is funded by private benefactors.
The claim was posted by the Manila Public Information office on Facebook, in a bulleted list of achievements Mayor Isko has accomplished in his 100 Days.
“Pagsasaayos ng Sta. Ana National Shrine (Plaza Calderon)” the post read.
The Manila Public Information Office is yet to issue a clarification to the inquiry.
